Not for use in diagnostic procedures. SKU# 85-86095 Cat. No. Size 85-86095-11 96 tests Description: The InstantOne™ ELISA is specifically engineered for accurate measurement of phosphorylated human STAT1 (Tyr701), STAT3 (Tyr705), and STAT5A/B (Tyr694/699) in cell lysates. Detection of mouse and rat phosphorylated STAT5A/B is also expected. The InstantOne™ ELISA kit allows for fast analysis of samples in approximately one hour. All reagents used in a traditional sandwich ELISA are added in solution to a plate followed by a wash step and detection with the TMB colorimetric substrate. NOTE: phospho-STAT1 requires a 2 hour incubation for optimal assay performance as opposed to the 1 hour for phospho-STAT3 and phospho-STAT5 Signal Transducers and Activators of Transcription (STATs) constitute a family of transcription factors that are activated via phosphorylation by JAK tyrosine kinases in response to various stimuli, including cytokines and growth factors. In non-stimulated cells, STATs exist in an inactive state in the cytoplasm. They are activated by tyrosine phosphorylation, which enables STAT homodimerization (except in STAT2 and STAT6). Heterodimers of STAT1 and STAT2, as well as STAT1 and STAT3, have also been reported. After dimerization, the STATs translocate into the nucleus where they regulate gene expression, often times within minutes following stimulation. STAT dephosphorylation within the nucleus also occurs rapidly and triggers its export to the cytoplasm.
