Human CD244 is a 38 kD protein expressed on NK cells, a subset of CD8+ T cells, γδ T cells, monocytes, basophils, mast cells, and eosinophils. Binding of CD244 to its ligand, CD48, results in NK cell activation. Costaining experiments with eBioC1.7 suggest that both antibodies recognize different epitopes.
