No. Size 14-6047-82 100 ug Description: This rabbit polyclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat X-linked IAP (XIAP), which is also known as Baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein (BIRC) 4. This 53-kDa member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family of proteins is ubiquitously expressed across multiple tissues and resides in the cytoplasm. XIAP inhibits cell death in response to stimuli such as UV irradiation, TNF, and FasL. This protein selectively binds and inhibits caspases-3, -7, and -9, but not caspases-1, -6, -8, or -10. Studies have demonstrated that XAF-1 and Smac/DIABLO are inhibitors of XIAP activity. Finally, XIAP deficiency in humans has been associated with X-link lymphoproliferative (XLP) syndrome.
