碘化丙啶
碘化丙啶(Propidium Iodide,PI)即2,7-二氨基-9-苯基10-二乙胺基丙基碘化菲啶，是一種核酸熒光染料，它不能透過完整的細(xì)胞膜，但能夠透過死細(xì)胞和凋亡中晚期細(xì)胞的細(xì)胞膜而使細(xì)胞核紅染。因此，作為熒光探針常用于細(xì)胞凋亡(apoptosis)或細(xì)胞壞死(necrosis)的檢測。在流式細(xì)胞和激光共聚焦分析中，常用于凋亡早晚期的細(xì)胞以及死細(xì)胞的區(qū)分以及在**染色時(shí)用于死細(xì)胞的非特異性染色的減除。由于PI可以定量插入DNA中，因此，還可用于細(xì)胞周期的分析與測定研究。

Fluorescent stain for nucleic acids. Cell membrane integrity excludes propidium iodide from staining viable and apoptotic cells. Propidium iodide may be used in flow cytometry to evaluate cell viability when used with other dyes that stain viable cells or cells that are early in the apoptosis process.
